All Out Of Ink

I’m a writer (Laynie) married to another writer (Chris). We have a little girl (Em) who has taught me a great many things about unconventional time management and creative maintenance. Our family is much more complicated than that, but I’ll stop with our household.

Over the years, I’ve written several thousand pages of poetry, stories, essays, research papers, journals, and letters. Out of those thousands of pages, I have had 5 poems published in print publications and 1 piece of flash in an online publication. Though to be fair, the ratio of submitted work to published work is much less depressing.

After all the places life has taken me, I have learned two important things.
1. My life is written in water. It will change whether I expect it to or not. The water’s always still there, the ripples reach into forever, the wind changes everything.
2. Some things you’re not ready for until you do them. You just have to do them anyway and allow yourself to be amazed when the experience becomes your very own.

It doesn’t matter whether my writing is about fact, fiction, or something else; these constitute the foundation for my work.

There are lots of other things I could tell you, but I won’t do it here. That’s what the blog is for. 🙂 Stay tuned!
